First-Year Experience
The University of Alabama is committed to providing its students with a comprehensive educational experience. The University has determined that for most first year students, on-campus dining has numerous educational, social, and dietary benefits. In recognition of the value of the living-learning experience, the University of Alabama requires first year students to participate in the First-Year Experience Meal Plan.
Benefits of First-Year Experience Meal Plans:
Meeting New Friends...Dining Halls are great social centers.
Convenience...All on-campus dining locations are close to resident halls and academic buildings.
Value...Meals in the First-Year Experience Meal Plan are sold at a discount and cost less than similiar off campus restaurants.
An Advantage...Studies of college students across the nation consistently show that students who eat and live on campus are more involved, have higher grade point averages and are more likely to graduate than students living at home or off campus.
Meal Plans are listed by semester price, semester meals and semester Dining Dollars. All meal plans come with 10 guest meals per semester and unused meals roll over from the fall to spring semester. Unused meals at the end of the spring semester do not roll over into the summer or following fall semester. Please note that the price per semester does not include $300 Dining Dollars*. Dining Dollars are billed separately on a student's receivables bill**.

Bama Unlimited - $1,757 per semester*
Unlimited meals; please note that this does not include the required $300 Dining Dollars.
Bama Gold - $1,634 per semester*
220 meals per semester; please note that this does not include the required $300 Dining Dollars.
Bama Silver - $1,350 per semester*
160 meals per semester; please note that this does not include the required $300 Dining Dollars.

Please note that All meal plans are sold as a yearly contract. You will billed for the meal plan selected in fall and automatically billed for the same meal plan in spring on your Student Receivables account. Rollover meals do not apply to cancelled or downgraded meal plans. Guest meals means that you have the ability to use your meals for a guest up to 10 times per semester.
