Bama Dining is committed to providing a safe and pleasant dining experience for our customers. We understand that our customers know best. They understand their individual food allergy and are best able to determine what they should eat or avoid. Our menus and menu signage do not carry allergy labels because we believe our customers’ safety is better served by directly connecting them with a trained manager who can understand their unique needs and share relevant food content information. Our managers are focused on providing individualized customer support and real-time, on-location information for the recipes and ingredients of interest to each customer. Manager photographs are found at the entrance of every food service operation at the University of Alabama.
UA’s dining services team is well-trained in food allergy awareness and offers a number of options for students with food allergies or food-related disabilities, including communication about and modification to existing menu items, and special preparation of allergen-free menu items.
